Q.173 - I am pregnant and have sinusitis. I want to use the NetiPot, but am worried that I may swallow the solution, is it dangerous during pregnancy? Can I just use distilled water without the solution?

NeilMed Sinus Rinse is absolutely safe during the pregnancy and during breast feeding.  Please do not use only distilled water as it will burn a lot.  The distilled water or pure water is hypotonic, not isotonic, and can irritate your nasal passages.

 I don't recall if I shook it or not so I thought I would rinse with warm water. Bad news. Eventually things settled down but then I thought maybe I should rinse with the packet but then decided against it. If I ever do this again which I expect I won't what do you recommend we do. I was distracted and forgot to follow my normal process.

 I usethe NetiPot to prevent sinusitis. I Neti with Sinus Rinse packets 2x/day with the same exact process. Sometimes I get a burning sensation and a bad aftertaste. I read the FAQs and I already do all the things that were suggested. Please advise
