Q.367 - I start using sinus rinse last week . I am using about 200ml of filter water and ( 1 packet )of solution in each nasal passage. Is this ok or should I only use half packet of solution in each nasal passage?

You should put the blue packet of saline mixture in the Sinus Rinse bottle and fill the bottle up to the 240 mL line with your filtered water for a solution that will not burn or sting. For comfort, make sure the water is lukewarm. Use half the bottle (120 mL) in one nasal passage and then use the other half in the other nasal passage. Generally, if you squeeze the bottle until your fingers touch the straw in the middle, you will use half the bottle.

I got a sinus CT scan that revealed that I have a dtevaied septum. So the sinus sprays that I have been using were making the problem of pressure worse. They were not draining properly and were going up to another sinus cavity. After many doctor's appointments, this information helped me the most because I understand better the shape of my sinuses and why sprays don't work. Now I just stick with over-the-counter generic Claritin daily and an occasional pseudo-ephedra product over-the-counter for sinus pain.
